White Nights is a month and a half of celebrations in St. Petersburg including concerts, theater, ballet. The sun sets at 11:30 p.m. and rises at 3 a.m. Once you've stayed up all night, so to speak, there usually isn't any pressing reason to go to sleep. People wander the streets until dawn and way beyond. Full weekends of revelry amount to mounds of trash--here, it serves as a colorful addition to the world famous Hermitage.
